JTBC, the continuation of the in1980 by the military government banned TB, is a major broadcaster in South Korea. For the positioning and the associated visual identity JTBC has very ambitious plans.
Brand platform for Korean broadcaster JTBC
To give direction to all plans, ambitions and dreams for the future, we develop a brand platform in close collaboration with the staff of JTBC. This platform serves as a positioning document and as a basis for the identity of the Korean broadcaster. In this phase of the project we work with DesignThinkers and our colleagues of Total Impact.
Visual identity Korean TV station
Together with Witvorm we develop a visual identity for the Korean TV station JTBC, a comprehensive design program for both on-screen and off-screen applications. With its digital building blocks, clear instructions and a range of examples the implementation can start immediately afterwards. A very important part of the corporate identity is the exclusive font we design for the Korean Hangul script.
Corporate typeface for JTBC
To design an appropriate, exclusive typeface for a client is a complex project. The shape of the individual characters is important, but even more so how balanced words and paragraphs can be written with those letters. Crucial are the many details in the drawing of the letters but also the spacing between them as they appear together in a word. In addition, there is a need for capitals, numerals, punctuation and special characters. With the Latin font Bourne and Witvorm design for Korean broadcaster JTBC as a starting point, Yoon Design creates the Korean characters.
